This is a reminder that burning permits are valid for the calendar year – expiring on December 31. Burning permits can be received online through the MN DNR at Onlne Burning Permits.

With the recent warmer temperatures, Big Stone County has lost much of its snow cover, which may have allowed open burning without a permit. MN DNR has updated Big Stone to “Permit Required” status. Please check Updated fire danger and burning restrictions for more information.
